I believe the Roe v Wade decision, with viability outside the womb being the abortion cut off point ( a point in time but not necessarily in actual fact is needed for consistency sake, say 6 months; no abortions after 24 weeks of pregnancy ) and exceptions thereafter being made by the mother, in conjunction with a competent medical doctor, when the mother’s life is put in jeopardy if she continued with the birth or a fetal abnormality is diagnosed that would lead to the birth of a dead baby, a grievously crippled baby or a baby with little chance of survival after birth. 

This 24 week ban on abortions and the above exceptions shines forth with true American Wisdom, Freedom, Liberty, Life and the Pursuit of Happiness. And it's all based upon the profound and wise understanding of when Human Life begins for Humanity.
